Dow was born in Stirlingshire, Scotland on November 5,1890. He
came to Canada in 1911 and after short periods of residence in
Hosmer, he came to Coleman in 1913. He worked in
the mines and was the lone survivor of a mine mishap in 1953
which claimed the lives of three miners.
